How to use Just for Diplomats

This site lives only by what members put into it. Here, in five minutes, is what you need to do — and above all why to do it.

01

What Just for Diplomats is

An independent site where diplomats on the move exchange what no official guide says: how to find housing, which neighbourhood to avoid, who to call on the first day. It is fed by those who have lived there, not by an editorial team.

It is not an official site, nor a social network, nor a paid service for diplomats. It is a colleagues’ address book.

02

Your four starting gestures

You do not need to do everything today. But these four gestures make the difference between an empty account and a useful one.

1Complete my career path

Your postings, past and future. Why: colleagues in the country where you are arriving see that you have lived there — and can write to you before your departure.

Complete my career path →
2Fill in a guide section

Housing, transport, health, schooling. Why: the page for your country already exists, but it is empty. One filled section helps all those who will arrive after you.

3Add an address to Le Carnet

The restaurant that never disappoints, the doctor who speaks French, the club where one can breathe. Why: this is the heart of the site — one address is worth more than ten articles.

Add an address →
4Invite a colleague

Five pending invitations per member. Why: the site advances by invitation — bring in those whose experience counts.

Who sees what

Everything is shared by default : your email, your phone, your presence in the directory, your career path and your destination. This choice is deliberate — an empty network serves no one. You can uncheck each box, at any time, from My account.

04

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my country page appear in Google?

Because it has fewer than three verified sections. It remains accessible to all users of the site; it will be indexed as soon as it is sufficiently filled.

Why is my ad not online yet?

It is awaiting review. You receive an email as soon as it is published or refused, with the reason if applicable. An ad then remains online for fourteen days.

Are my contact details public?

No. They are only visible to connected members, and you can hide them with one click in My account.

How do I delete my account?

Write to info@justfordiplomats.com. Your data is erased and your ads are removed.

You know things that no one has written

On the first day in a new country, it is the colleagues who save the day. Return the favour.
